There is hereby created the Veterans Committee with the duties and constituted as set forth below.
(a) Such Committee shall consist of five members, at least three being a resident of the City of Tallmadge and at least three being active duty military or veterans.
(b) The Director of Public Service, or designee shall serve on the Committee. The Mayor shall appoint two members, at least one of whom shall be active duty military or veterans, and representing the Tallmadge American Legion, if possible. Council shall appoint two members, at least one of whom shall be active duty military or a veteran.
(c) The Director of Public Service, or designee shall not have a definite term. One of the Mayor's appointments and one of the Council's appointment shall serve for two years and one of the Mayor's appointment and one of the Council's appointments shall serve for three years upon initiation of the Committee. Thereafter, each Mayor or Council appointed member shall serve for three-year staggered terms.
