8-2-7: SYMPTOMS OF RABIES:
Whenever the owner of an animal observes or learns that the animal shows symptoms of rabies or acts in a manner which would lead to a reasonable suspicion that it may have rabies, the owner of the animal shall immediately notify the animal control officer. If it appears to the animal control officer that any animal is afflicted with rabies, he/she may apprehend and destroy the animal forthwith and shall take such other action as deemed necessary to prevent the spread of the disease.
