2-3-1: UTILITY WIRES:
Whenever any person wishes to remove any building or other structure from one place in the city to another, over any street thereof, above which telegraph, telephone, trolley or other electric wires are suspended, and such wires are not suspended at a sufficient height above the street to allow the passage of such building or other structure across the street, and whenever it shall be necessary to remove any of the poles from which such wires are suspended or to remove or cut any guy or anchor wires or anchor posts, to allow the passage of such building or other structure across the street, such person shall give reasonable notice to the person, managing agent or the person controlling and operating such wires, poles or posts of his desire to have such wires cut or such poles or posts removed so as to permit the passage of such building or other structure across the street.
He shall deposit with such person such sum, not exceeding twenty five dollars ($25.00), as such person shall estimate to be necessary to pay for the expense and damage incident to the cutting of said wires and removal of such poles or posts and restoring such wires, poles and posts to their former condition, after the passage of such building or structure, and upon making such request and such deposit, such person or agent controlling and operating such wires shall fix and designate a reasonable time when he shall cut such wires and remove such poles or posts and allow the passage of such building or other structure across such street and such person desiring to remove such building or other structure shall at the time so fixed and designated remove such building or other structure across such street expeditiously, so as to occasion the least delay and inconvenience in the use of the wires.
