The following definitions shall apply when interpreting the intent or meaning of the requirements and guidelines of this chapter, subject to compliance with Division 2, Chapter 10.5 Massage Therapy Act of the Business and Professions Code [Section 4600 - 4621].
COUNCIL: | The non-profit California Massage Therapy Council (CAMTC) created pursuant to the Massage Therapy Act. |
MASSAGE: | The scientific manipulation of the soft tissues. |
MASSAGE ESTABLISHMENT: | An establishment having a permanent physical location for business where any person engages in massage for compensation. |
MASSAGE THERAPIST: | A person who is certified by the CAMTC who administers massage for compensation. |
PERSON: | Any individual, partnership, corporation or association, of any nature whatsoever. (Ord. 714-04, 7-6-2004; amd. Ord. 835-20, 5-5-2020) |
