§ 93.008 USE OF SKATEBOARDS RESTRICTED.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any person to skate upon or ride upon any skateboard at any place within the town between the hours beginning one hour before sunset and ending one hour after sunrise.
   (B)   It shall be unlawful for any person to skate upon or ride upon any skateboard at any time upon any of the following streets: Church Street, Main Street, Front Street, Webb Street and Sabiston Drive.
   (C)   For purposes of this section, the term SPECIAL EVENTS shall be defined to include the following:
      (1)   The Saturday portion of the festival customarily known as “Art by the Sea” generally celebrated during the second weekend in the month of May each year;
      (2)   The Saturday portion of the festival customarily known as “The Mullet Festival” during the second weekend in the month of October each year;
      (3)   Independence Day (July 4).
   (D)   It shall be unlawful for any person to skate (whether upon roller skates or upon “roller glides” or “roller gliders” or any similar appliance) or to ride upon any skateboard on any street, sidewalk or other public way in the area from N.C. Highway 24 southward and westward to the White Oak River at any time during special events as defined in division (C) of this section. This prohibition shall be effective even if the special event occurs at some time other than the times described herein provided the Board of Commissioners of the town has officially recognized the special event by proclamation or otherwise.
