§ 4.1 REGULAR ELECTIONS.
   Elections shall be held biennially in odd-numbered years on the day set by general law for municipal elections. In each election, the candidate for mayor who receives the largest number of votes cast for mayor shall be declared elected for a term of four (4) years. The two (2) candidates for commissioner who receive the largest numbers of votes cast for commissioner shall be declared elected for terms of four (4) years. The candidate for commissioner who receives the next highest number of votes shall be declared elected for a term of two (2) years. Candidates for commissioner will be elected for staggered terms with three (3) commissioners elected in each biennial election. (Amended 1977)
