5-1-7: LICENSING EXEMPTIONS:
   A.   The provisions of sections 5-1-5 and 5-1-6 of this chapter shall not apply to:
      1.   Dogs licensed in other jurisdictions whose owners are temporary residents (up to 30 days maximum) within the jurisdiction. Such licensed dogs whose owners remain within the jurisdiction longer than thirty (30) days may receive a local license upon completion of an application per subsection 5-1-5C of this chapter, payment of the requisite fees per the animal control fee schedule, and proof of current rabies vaccination to the division of animal control; or
      2.   Individual dogs within a properly licensed commercial kennel when such dogs are held for resale.
   B.   The fee provisions of sections 5-1-5 and 5-1-6 of this chapter shall not apply to:
      1.   Service animals; or
      2.   Dogs especially trained to assist officials of government agencies in the performance of their duties and which are owned by such agencies.
   C.   Nothing in this section shall be construed so as to exempt any dog from having a current rabies vaccination. (Ord. 832, 11-12-2014)
