240.06 TRAPPING OF WILDLIFE OR ANIMALS.
   (a)   A resident may trap, on property which the resident owns or permanently occupies, wildlife or animals constituting a nuisance by use of a live box trap.
   (b)   The resident may obtain, to the extent it may be available, a trap from the City of Strongsville to trap animals within the City limits. In order to obtain such a trap, the resident shall do the following:
      (1)   Contact the Animal Warden to set up a time for the resident to obtain a trap at the City to be utilized by the resident for a definite time period specified by the Animal Warden.
      (2)   Provide the Animal Warden identification, to the satisfaction of the Animal Warden, indicating that he/she is in fact a resident of the City.
      (3)   Post a cash deposit of fifty dollars ($50.00) with the City for each trap loaned to the resident, which deposit will be repaid to the resident once the trap is returned to the City in a timely manner and in the same condition as loaned, otherwise the deposit will be forfeited to the City.
   (c)   The resident shall be responsible for setting and baiting the trap. If a resident is successful in trapping an animal, the resident shall contact the Animal Warden within twenty-four hours after trapping the animal, and inform the Animal Warden of the type of animal trapped.
   (d)   The Animal Warden shall pick up the trap and animal, or make arrangements with a contractor to pick up the trap and animal, and shall remove the trap and animal from the resident’s property.
