The Commissioner of Buildings is to maintain, to every extent possible, the numbers now in existence on specified buildings or residences, but if the numbering system is so illogical as to cause confusion, then the Commissioner is empowered to direct the removal of any such numbers and the substitution of a street or address number that will carry out a logical numbering system for the City.
