Notwithstanding the licensing provisions of this chapter, the practice of going into and/or upon private residences in the Municipality by solicitors, peddlers, itinerant merchants or canvassers not having been requested or invited to do so by the owner or owners, occupant or occupants of the private residences for the purpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods, wares, merchandise, magazines, periodicals or other articles or publications and/or disposing of and/or peddling or hawking the same is declared to be a nuisance.
