(a) General Misdemeanor Classifications. Whoever violates any provision of this Traffic Code for which violation no penalty is otherwise provided, is guilty of a minor misdemeanor.

(b) Penalties. Whoever is convicted of or pleads guilty to a violation of this Traffic Code shall be imprisoned for a definite term or fined, or both, which term of imprisonment and fine shall be fixed by the court as provided in this section.

(c) Reimbursement for Expenses Incurred by the City for Incarceration of Defendants.
(1) Any person convicted of a violation of State or local law within the City or upon City property for which conviction a jail sentence is imposed, in addition to any fine which may be imposed against such person, shall be required to reimburse the City for the costs incurred by the City for the incarceration of such person, including the costs of medical care provided to the person during the period of incarceration.
(2) The Director of Finance, after billing the convicted person and receiving no satisfaction for a period of thirty days, shall certify such costs to the Director of Law for collection in the name of the City as in other civil cases. (Ord. 86-13. Passed 2-17-86.)
