1165.26 WATER LINES.
   The requirements for water lines shall be:
   (a)    Size. The standard minimum size of mains used for hydrant supply is as follows:
      (1)    Residential districts. In residential districts, six-inch minimum.
      (2)    Business and industrial districts. In business and industrial districts, eight- inch and ten-inch, the former to be used only where it completes a good gridiron, and the latter for long lines not interconnected.
      (3)    General. Line sizes may need to be larger than the minimums to be in conformance with the proposed master plan sizes of the City or to provide the needed fire hydrant flows.
      (4)    Cover. Minimum cover shall be forty-eight inches.
   (b)    Ten States Standards. The design of water lines shall be in accordance with the current edition of the "Ten States - Recommended Standards for Water Works".
   (c)    Meters. Meters shall be supplied by the City, and paid for by the customer.
   (d)    Water System. 
      (1)    A central water system shall be installed serving each lot in the subdivision. It shall be connected to the City's water system unless otherwise permitted in writing. The water system shall be constructed in accordance with the Construction Regulations.
      (2)    Dead-end water lines shall not be permitted. All water lines must be looped to provide proper flows of water and prevent sediment buildup.
      (3)    Private water sources (wells, etc.) may not be provided to any property that is connected to the City's system, unless the well service is metered as well as the municipal services. There shall be no common water piping between the municipal and well system.
