149.10 PURPOSE OF COMMITTEE; CONSULTATION.
   The purpose of the Parks and Recreation Committee shall be to make careful and comprehensive surveys and studies of present parks and playgrounds, along with a study of the future growth of the City, with the general purpose of advising the Mayor and Council of ways to accomplish a coordinated, adjusted and harmonious development of a system of parks and playgrounds and other recreational areas which will, in accordance with present and future needs, best and most efficiently and economically promote the health, safety, morals, order, convenience and general welfare of the residents, including among other things, the location of parks, playgrounds and other recreational areas conveniently distributed as to population. In preparing these studies the Parks and Recreation Committee shall consult and cooperate with the Planning Commission. (Ord. 82-19. Passed 6-22-82.)
