§ 123.05 FEES.

   (A)   For any dwelling unit to be rented, the owner shall pay a processing base fee, rental fee, and any applicable penalty fees as set forth in § 152.20(G) of this Code of Ordinances. The Processing Base Fee is intended to address the cost incurred by the Building Official in processing and reviewing the rental permit application. The Rental Fee is intended to address the cost incurred by the Building Official in reviewing and inspecting the structure before certification which is authorized under § 123.04 herein.

   (B)   Should the Building Official be required to make any additional inspections beyond the initial inspection and the first re-inspection to determine compliance of any violations of the rules, regulations and ordinances set forth in § 123.04, the Reinspection Fees in § 152.20(G) shall apply.

   (C)   Any property owner who shall commence renting any dwelling unit without first having obtained a Rental Permit therefor shall be subject to penalties as outlined in § 123.09, and shall, if legally authorized and subsequently allowed to obtain a permit, pay Penalty Fee for renting without a rental permit as outlined in § 152.20(G).

   (D)   This fee structure shall be reviewed yearly prior to the submittal of the city's annual budget and adjusted if necessary and appropriate.
