Sec. 2-123. Physical examination.
   (a)   Sworn personnel of the police department shall be required to undergo annual physical examinations (see appendix thirteen). All other employees may undergo voluntary physical exams annually as part of the city's wellness program; sample physical forms may be provided by the city. The cost of all such physical examinations shall be borne by the employee's health insurance plan to the maximum amount allowed. All additional costs for police department personnel physicals shall be borne by the city; all or a portion of the remaining costs of all other employee physicals may be borne by the city at the discretion of the city council. This decision will be made on a calendar year basis.
   (b)   All results of exams will be filed so as to conform with the confidentiality requirements of the American with Disabilities Act. The information from the medical exams and inquiries may be used for Worker's Compensation purposes in accordance with state law and for the employer's medical insurance plan that is consistent with the provisions of the American with Disabilities Act. The information from the medical exams and inquiries may also be used for first-aid or emergency medical treatment and providing necessary reasonable accommodation.
