(A) The operator of regulated vehicle, when operating on the designated roadways, shall do so in conformance with all traffic and safety laws of the state and the town.
(B) At no time shall a regulated vehicle be operated upon sidewalks or in lawfully posted areas.
(C) The operator of a regulated vehicle emerging from an alley, driveway, or building, or upon approaching a sidewalk or sidewalk area, shall, before entering a roadway, yield the right-of-way to all vehicles and pedestrians approaching said roadway.
(D) Any person operating a regulated vehicle upon a designated roadway must possess a valid driver’s license. However, a golf cart may be operated by an individual 50 years of age or older with a valid state-issued ID, in lieu of a driver’s license.
(E) Every regulated vehicle moved, operated or driven upon a designated roadway shall be equipped with:
(1) Brakes that are in proper working condition;
(2) Bicycle safety flag on a staff holder at least five feet above the street surface;
(3) Rearview minor;
(4) Manufacturer’s vehicle identification number;
(5) Working headlights, tail lights and brake lights if driven after sunset; and
(6) Each golf cart, but not ORV, must properly display a “slow moving vehicle” emblem or a flashing amber light in accordance with I.C. 9-21-9-0.5.
(F) Passengers are permitted only to the extent that manufacturer-installed seating indicates. In no event are any more than five persons, including the operator, permitted during use of any regulated vehicle on designated roadways.
(G) Regulated vehicles may only be driven from sunrise to sunset, unless the regulated vehicle is equipped with two headlights, one on each side of the vehicle and two operating tail lights which are visible from a distance of 500 feet.
(H) Use of a regulated vehicle on state highways is limited only to perpendicular crossing of same.
(I) Towing or dragging of a trailer or any other item by a regulated vehicle is prohibited on designated roadways.
