Any person who shall violate the provisions of the Michigan Building Code, adopted herein as the City's building code, or who shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof, or who shall erect, construct, alter or repair a building or structure in violation of an approved plan or directive of the Code official, as defined in said Code, or of a permit or a certificate issued under the provisions of that Code, shall be guilty of a municipal civil infraction punishable by not more than two hundred dollars ($200.00). Each day that a Code violation continues shall be deemed a separate offense. The enforcing agency for the City shall be the Building Department.
