(a) Telephone and Electric Lines. Telephone and electric service lines shall be placed underground entirely throughout a subdivided area. Conduits or cables shall be placed in easements or dedicated public ways in a manner which will not conflict with other underground services. Further, all transformer boxes shall be located so as not to be unsightly or hazardous to the public. Insofar as is practical, all such lines shall be placed in rear-line easements. Service leads to individual customers shall also be placed underground. Exact locations shall be approved in advance by the appropriate utility company, in writing.
(b) Natural Gas Lines. Where natural gas service or transmission mains or lines are placed underground in a subdivision, such mains or lines shall be placed in dedicated public ways in such a manner as will not conflict with other underground services.
