The Board of Trustees shall fix and determine, by appropriate rules and regulations not inconsistent with this chapter, the amount of service to be credited to any member, provided that in no case shall less than ten days of service rendered by such member in any calendar month be credited as a month of service, nor shall less than ten months of service rendered by him or her in any fiscal year be credited as a year of service, nor shall more than one year of service be credited to any member for all service rendered by him or her in any fiscal year, nor shall he or she be credited with any service rendered by him or her after he or she attains seventy years of age.
