290.02 POWERS AND DUTIES.
   The Public Safety Commission shall take whatever legal means it deems necessary to provide for the public peace and for the safety of persons and property within the bounds of authority granted by the City Charter, these Codified Ordinances and the general laws of the State. The Commission shall administer the general policies of the police and fire-fighting functions of the City and shall conduct all business and have control and management of the Police Department and the Fire Department, subject to those powers and duties that must, by law, remain with the Mayor, Council and the Civil Service Commission for police and fire departments under M.C.L.A. 38.501 et seq., as amended. It shall have such other powers and perform such other functions as the Mayor and Council, in their respective discretions, may lawfully designate to the Commission.
