236.01 GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES OF FIRE CHIEF.
   The Fire Department shall be headed by the Fire Chief, who shall be charged with the prevention and extinguishment of fires, the protection of life and property against fire, the removal of fire hazards, the performance of other public services of an emergency nature assigned to the Department and the conducting of an educational fire prevention program, which duties shall be performed under the supervision and direction of the Public Safety Commission.
