A permit issued shall be construed to be a license to proceed with the work. It shall not be construed as authority to violate, cancel, alter or set aside any of the provisions of this Building Code or other applicable laws laws, ordinances, rules or regulations, nor shall such issuance of a permit prevent the Commissioner of Building from thereafter requiring a correction of errors in plans or construction or of violations of this Building Code or other applicable laws, ordinances, rules or regulations. The Commissioner shall not incur any personal liability or expense upon the City by virtue of his prior approval of any plan or specification later determined by him or by any other authority to be in contravention of this Building Code or other applicable laws, ordinances, rules or regulations.
