A building permit shall be obtained from the Commissioner of Building before proceeding with any excavation for or the construction, alteration, repair, moving or demolition of any building or appurtenant structure.
A separate permit shall be obtained for signs, electrical work, plumbing work, heating appliances and any other equipment installation that is regulated by this Building Code.
