It shall be unlawful to hold any public dances or give instruction in dancing for hire in any hall within the City, until such hall shall be first duly licensed for that purpose, as hereinafter provided. The owner of any such hall shall apply for a license, which application shall be on a form which shall be furnished by the City. Before any license is granted, such application shall be approved by the Mayor and the Director of Safety. Upon the approval of such license, such applicant shall pay to the Director of Finance an annual license fee of twenty-five dollars ($25. 00). Any license issued thereunder shall expire on December 31 following the issue thereof, unless sooner revoked upon order of the Mayor as herein provided.
