131.02 DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY: DUTIES.
   The Director of Public Safety, under the supervision of the Mayor, shall perform all duties required of him/her by Article V of the Charter, and shall be the executive and administrative head of the Police and Fire Departments and shall have all powers and duties connected with, and incident to, the government of such departments except as may be otherwise provided by law; and subject to the approval of the Mayor, he/she shall promulgate, issue and administer rules and regulations for the governance of the Police and Fire Depart ments, their members and divisions, relating to their duties and functions, and such other duties as may be required by ordinance or law.
