§ 90.46 IMPOUNDING.
   The Police Department is authorized to enforce the provisions of § 90.03 by impounding any animals found in violation thereof. After such animal is impounded, the Animal Shelter or veterinary hospital shall ascertain whether they are licensed, and if so, shall within a reasonable time notify the person to whom the license was issued that said animal has been impounded and may be redeemed. All animals, licensed or strays, impounded pursuant to this section shall be held for a minimum of three days, maximum of four days after notification of the owner. In case any animal is not released, it shall be humanely destroyed or otherwise disposed of, provided that none of said animals shall be used for experimental purposes.
