533.14 TAMPERING WITH CODE OFFICIAL NOTICE OR OCCUPANCY OF CONDEMNED STRUCTURE PROHIBITED.
   (a)   No person may remove or tamper with a notice posted by a code official on property affected by such notice unless such person is authorized to do so by such code official. Any such notice may include the name of the code official and a warning that removal or tampering with the notice is a violation of City Code Section 533.14 and punishable pursuant to City Code Section 501.99.
   (b)   No person may occupy a building or other structure that has been posted by a code official as condemned or unfit for occupancy.
   (c)   For purposes of this section, the following definitions apply:
      (1)   “Code official” means Building Inspector, City Engineer, other municipal or state official authorized to enforce or carry out any of the provisions of City Code Article 1119, Article 1705, Article 1709, or the State Building Code, or his or her designee.
      (2)   “Notice” means any notice, complaint, or order posted by a code official on property affected that is authorized or required by the City’s Health and Sanitation Code, the City’s Building and Housing Code, or the State Building Code, including but not limited to notices related to buildings unfit for occupancy.
