§ 59.011 WATER METER TESTING.
   (a)   In the event that a water meter fails to register the amount of water passing through it, the quantity of water used shall be estimated based on an analysis of the account.
   (b)   Upon request, a customer's water meter will be tested at no charge to determine whether the meter correctly measures water according to the then current standard as adopted by the American Water Works Association (AWWA).
      (1)   If test results show the water meter overregisters beyond the AWWA acceptable standard, the city will adjust the customer's water bill for the last billing period.
      (2)   If the test results show the water meter correctly measures within the AWWA acceptable standard, the customer will be charged a water meter test fee for each additional test within the following two years.
