1610.05 STORAGE LIMITS FOR LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS.
   The limits referred to in Section 8204.2 of the Uniform Fire Code, 1997 edition, in which the storage of liquefied petroleum gas is restricted, are hereby established as follows:
   The entire jurisdictional area, except for the areas zoned M-1 Light Manufactured and Industrial, M-1(s) Light Manufacturing and Industrial Park and M-2 Heavy Manufacturing and Industrial.

1610.06 STORAGE LIMITS FOR EXPLOSIVES AND BLASTING AGENTS.
   The limits referred to in Section 7701.7.2 of the Uniform Fire Code, 1997 edition, in which the storage of explosives and blasting agents is restricted, are hereby established as follows:
   The entire jurisdictional area, unless approval is granted by Council.

1610.07 MODIFICATIONS.
   The City Manager or his or her authorized representative may modify any provision of the Uniform Fire Code, as adopted in Section 1610.01, upon application, in writing, by the owner or lessee, or his or her duly authorized agent, when there are practical difficulties in the way of carrying out the strict letter of the Code, provided that the spirit of the Code shall be observed, public safety secured and substantial justice done. The particulars of such modification, when granted or allowed, and the decisions thereon of the City Manager or his or her authorized representative, shall be entered upon the records of the Fire Division, and a signed copy shall be furnished to the applicant.

1610.08 APPEALS.
   Whenever the Fire Chief, the City Inspector or the City Manager disapproves an application or refuses to grant a permit applied for, or whenever it is claimed that the provisions of the Uniform Fire Code do not apply or that the true intent and meaning of the Code have been misconstrued or wrongly interpreted, the applicant may appeal from the decision to Council, which shall constitute the Board of Appeals provided for in the Code, within thirty days from the date of the decision appealed.

1610.09 EFFECT ON PENDING LITIGATION.
   Nothing in this chapter or in the Uniform Fire Code or the Uniform Fire Code Standards shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding now pending in any court, or any right acquired, liability incurred or cause of action accrued or existing, under any act or ordinance repealed by this chapter, nor shall any right or remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this chapter.
