430.01 APPLICATION TO EMERGENCY VEHICLES.

The provisions of this Traffic Code regulating the movement, parking and standing of vehicles shall not apply to authorized emergency vehicles while the driver of such vehicle is operating the same in an emergency in the necessary performance of public duties. This exemption shall not, however, protect the driver of any such vehicle from the consequences of a reckless disregard of the safety of others.
