7-2-6: WORK SPECIFICATIONS:
The following specifications shall be adhered to for work performed pursuant to a permit issued hereunder:
   A.   Notice Of Excavation: The public works department of the village shall be notified one working day prior to the commencement of the proposed work.
   B.   Pavement Cuts: The existing pavement shall be removed so that the interior angles at the inside corners of breaks are not less than forty five degrees (45°) and so that angle of the pavement being removed (or the remaining pavement for other types of removal) is not less than sixty degrees (60°). The end of the patch shall be hand trimmed. The general plane of the cut face shall not deviate more than one and one-half inches (11/2") from vertical.
   C.   Backfill: The trench shall be backfilled with fine aggregate, gradation FA 6 (Illinois standard specifications) to the subgrade elevation. Trench backfill with fine aggregate shall be constructed within two feet (2') of the edge of the proposed pavement. In all other areas, the trench shall be backfilled with select materials and leveled to grade.
   D.   Restoration And Repair:
      1.   All repairs shall be made within five (5) working days after the date on which the cut, alteration or excavation was made.
      2.   The pavement replacement shall consist of eight inches (8") of crushed stone, CA-6 gradation compacted to one hundred percent (100%) proctor and two inches (2") of compacted thickness of bituminous concrete surface course, class 1. The subbase shall be bonded to the surface course by one-tenth (0.1) gallon per square yard of prime RC-70.
      3.   All landscaping within the public right of way shall be restored by the contractor.
   E.   Traffic Restrictions:
      1.   Traffic shall be permitted on patches for at least three (3) days prior to resurfacing if complete resurfacing is planned.
      2.   During construction, the contractor shall furnish, erect and maintain all traffic control devices as specified by the village.
   F.   Variations: Any alteration in the written proposal shall be submitted to the village board for a new approval.
   G.   Expiration Of Permit: The proposed cut shall be made within thirty (30) days of the date indicated on the village board's written approval. If the proposed cut is not made within said period, the applicant shall submit a new application to the village board for approval. (Ord. 88-476, 8-16-1988)
