7-1-3: UNCOVERED, UNGUARDED SEWERS, WELLS AND DRAINS; DRAINAGE REGRADING OR RECONSTRUCTION:
   A.   No person shall construct, repair or allow to remain or exist any cesspool, cistern, hydrant, pump, culvert, drain, sewer, well or similar or related facility in a manner or method so as to permit the same or any excavation made or constructed in conjunction therewith to remain open, uncovered, unfenced, unattended or unguarded so that the same may constitute an unsafe condition or hazard or danger to the safety, health or welfare of any person.    B.   Prior to regrading or reconstructing any drainage swale, the contractor/owner shall submit to the Village a site plan showing elevations of property together with the intended improvements. The grading and reconstruction shall be completed such that the property will properly drain without adversely affecting other adjacent properties; and
   C.   If the intended improvement requires the contractor/owner to work on an adjacent property the permit applicant shall obtain the written consent of such other property owner. This written consent shall accompany the building permit application; and
   D.   The applications shall be submitted to the Village of Shorewood Building Department for their review. If in the opinion of the Building Department the expertise of the Village Engineer is necessary in order to properly evaluate the application, the applicant shall be responsible for the reimbursement of those professional fees.
   E.   Fees for the building permit shall be based on the renovation and remodeling fees as listed in section 8-1A-9 of this Code. (Ord. 01-1038, 3-13-2001)
