1-6-14: CHAIRMAN OF SPECIAL EVENTS:
   A.   Chairmanship Created; Appointment: The Chairmanship of Special Events is hereby created subject to the provisions of this Section. The Chairman of Special Events shall be appointed from among the members of the Board of Trustees by the Village President subject to the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees.
   B.   Duties: The Chairman of Special Events shall be responsible to the elected body for the performance of the following:
      1.   Making policy recommendations to the Village President and Board of Trustees regarding:
         a.   Appropriate occasions or persons to be recognized.
         b.   Appropriate type of event for the occasion or person to be recognized.
         c.   Annual budget for special events.
      2.   Plan and supervise special events, including:
         a.   Determining date, time and place.
         b.   Arranging for food and refreshments (as appropriate).
         c.   Acting on behalf of the elected body in contractual agreements for facilities, catering and entertainment (as appropriate).
         d.   Assure that the appropriate persons are properly compensated.
      3.   Chair ad hoc committees appointed by the Village President, with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees, as, from time to time, necessary to assist in special events activities.
   C.   Relationship With Village Staff: The Village Administrator and other staff members assist the chairman by providing advice and information as requested. The chairman does not direct, supervise or act as advocate for Village employees at any level of the organization. (Ord. 87-433, 5-12-1987)
