1-6-13: POLICE CHIEF SELECTION COMMITTEE:
   A.   Committee Created: A Police Chief Selection Committee to the Village Board of Trustees is hereby created.
   B.   Composition: The Police Chief Selection Committee shall consist of five (5) members as follows: one Trustee, the current Chief of Police, a member of the Police and Fire Commission, one resident of the Village and one member of the business community. The members shall be appointed by the Village President with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees. The President will appoint one member as chairman.
   C.   Duration Of Committee: The Police Chief Selection Committee shall be an ad hoc Committee and shall exist until such time as the mission and duties as hereafter delineated are completed or until otherwise terminated by ordinance.
   D.   Mission And Duties: The mission of the Police Chief Selection Committee is to advise and make recommendations to the President and Board of Trustees concerning the following:
      1.   Develop a job description and profile for the position of Chief of Police.
      2.   Screen all resumes for the Chief of Police position.
      3.   Select ten (10) potential candidates to interview for position.
      4.   Interview the ten (10) selected candidates.
      5.   After interviews have been completed, select three (3) candidates to be recommended to the Village Board. (Ord. 93-706, 8-24-1993)
