1-6-12: SAFETY COMMITTEE:
   A.   Committee Created; Composition; Duration:
      1.   Committee Created: A Safety Committee to the Village Board of Trustees is hereby created. (Ord. 92-669, 10-27-1992)
      2.   Composition: The Safety Committee shall consist of five (5) members as follows: the Administrative Assistant who will serve as Safety Coordinator, the Village Administrator, the Chief Building Official, the Police Chief and the Public Works Supervisor and who shall be appointed by the Village President with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees. (Ord. 95-805, 8-22-1995)
      3.   Duration: The Safety Committee shall exist until terminated by ordinance.
   B.   Meetings: The Safety Committee shall hold regular meetings as often as deemed necessary by the chairman. Minutes shall be taken and approved by the Committee and distributed to the Board of Trustees.
   C.   Mission And Duties: The mission of the Safety Committee is as follows:
      1.   Develop and revise as needed a general safety manual setting forth such items as loss control responsibility, self- inspection programs and accident reporting, investigation and procedures. This manual shall be presented to the Board of Trustees for approval.
      2.   Develop and revise as needed a specific safety manual pertinent to each department. These manuals shall be presented to the Board of Trustees for approval.
      3.   Bring the Village into compliance with current Illinois Department of Labor and OSHA requirements.
      4.   Represent management's direction and commitment to safety.
      5.   Implement a self-inspection program with documentation.
      6.   Identify specific safety issues and implement control measures through recommendations to the Board of Trustees. (Ord. 92-669, 10-27-1992; amd. Ord. 20- 1982, 8-25-2020)
