1-6-10: BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE:
   A.   Committee Created: The Shorewood Beautification Committee is hereby created, consisting of not more than fifteen (15) members who shall be appointed by the Village President with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees.
   B.   Residence Requirements: All members of the Shorewood Beautification Committee shall reside within the corporate limits of the Village.
   C.   Term Of Office: The initial committee shall be appointed for the following terms: one-third (1/3) of the members shall be appointed for a term of one year; one-third (1/3) of the members shall be appointed for a term of two (2) years; and one-third (1/3) of the members, including the Chairman, shall be appointed for a term of three (3) years. Thereafter, all subsequent appointments to the committee shall be for a term of three (3) years.
   D.   Meetings, Officers; Quorum: The committee Chairman shall be appointed by the Village President with the advice and consent of the Village Board and shall serve for a term of three (3) years or until a successor is duly appointed. The committee shall meet from time to time on call of the Chairman. A majority of the committee members shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of transacting any business that may come before the committee.
   E.   Duties: The committee shall develop beautification projects including, but not limited to landscaping, tree planting and flower planting and shall recommend implementation of said projects to the Board of Trustees. After obtaining the necessary permits from IDOT, the committee shall be particularly concerned with the beautification of major roadway intersections, the planting of trees along major roadways and the planting of shrubs and flowers at the Village entrance signs and the Village Hall.
