ORDINANCE NO. 24-2101

AN ORDINANCE CHANGING THE NAMES OF PORTIONS OF TOWNE CENTER BOULEVARD AND HAMPTON LANE

WHEREAS, the Village of Shorewood has recently approved a Plat of Subdivision for the “Hamptons”; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to change certain street names to meet “911” requirements to promote public safety; and

WHEREAS, the changes are depicted on Exhibit “A” attached hereto and incorporated herein; and

WHEREAS, the Village is authorized by 11-80-19 of the Illinois Municipal Code (65ILCS 5/11-80-19) to name or rename any street in the Village.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF SHOREWOOD, WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1.   NAME CHANGE

That the portion of Towne Center Boulevard indicated on Exhibit A is hereby changed to Hamptons Ln and Hamptons Ln as indicated on Exhibit A is hereby changed to Lily Pond Dr.

SECTION 2.   NOTIFICATION

That the Village Clerk be and is hereby directed to notify the Will County Clerk and the Post Office branch serving the area of the change. Such notice shall be made by certified or registered mail.         

SECTION 3.   NAME EFFECTIVE

The name change herein ordained shall be effective thirty (30) days after the notices set

forth in Section 2 have been made.

SECTION 4.      SEVERABILITY

In the event that any word, phrase, clause, sentence, paragraph, provision or section of this Ordinance, or any part thereof, shall be held to be unconstitutional, unenforceable or void, the same shall not effect the validity or enforceability or any remaining words, phrases, clauses, sentences, paragraphs, provisions or sections of this Ordinance, in addition to, but not in lieu of any other civil remedies which may be available to the Village of Shorewood.

SECTION 5.      REPEALER

All Ordinances or parts thereof which conflict with any term, condition, provision or section of this Ordinance be and the same are hereby repealed.

SECTION 5.      EFFECTIVE DATE

This Ordinance shall be in effective after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.
