There is hereby created an Office within the village, to be known as the Office of administrative hearings ("Office"), supervised by the village administrator, but receiving legal guidance and instruction from the village attorney, to oversee, manage, direct and operate a system of administrative adjudication of charges of Code violations for the Village of Shorewood. The system will authorize an administrative hearing officer to conduct adjudicatory hearings of cases instituted by village departments. Hearing officers authorized under this section shall be officers within the meaning of this Code and shall be appointed by the Mayor, with advice and consent of the Village Board, for a term consistent with the term of the Mayor and until his successor is appointed and qualified. Multiple Hearing Officers may be appointed. Hearing Officers may be removed upon recommendation of the Mayor with the concurrence of the Village Board. (Ord. 23-2060, 1-24-2023)
