3-21-8: INVESTIGATION OF OPERATORS:
   A.   It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to examine or cause to be examined all owners, drivers and operators of mobile food vending units for the purpose of ascertaining whether or not such Mobile Food Vending License shall be issued.
   B.   A criminal background check will be performed by the Police Department for all applicants, drivers and operators. In the event that fingerprints are required to confirm investigative results, the applicant will be responsible for applicable fees.
   C.   No such license shall be issued when any owner, driver or operator:
      1.   has been convicted of a felony under the laws of the State of Illinois or any other state or federal law of the United States, within the past five years of the date of the application;
      2.   has been convicted of a violation of any of the provisions of this chapter or to any person whose business registration or license has previously been revoked; or
      3.   must register as a sex offender as required by the Sex Offender Registration Act, ILCS Ch. 730, Act 150. (Ord. 22-2040, 4-26-2022)
