When the office of the Town Marshal is requested to verify the title and registration of an out-of-state motor vehicle or other vehicle requiring police inspection under IC 9-29-4-2, pursuant to its registration and licensing in this state, a fee of $5 shall be paid to the town by the applicant. This fee shall be deposited in the town General Fund.
