(A) The public utilities operating within the city limits are hereby authorized to trim trees and undergrowth for sufficient distance so as to clear utility wires, power and telephone, for a distance of not less than 18 inches from the wires, such trees to be those located outside of private property lines along and over the streets and alleys in the city which are subjected to control of the City Council.
(B) Such trimming and cutting of trees shall be done in a workmanlike manner and during such seasons of the year as will not destroy the trees or shrubbery and all brush, limbs and debris shall be immediately removed from the streets.
(C) This work shall be done under the supervision and direction of a city official designated by the City Council.
