The term of office shall be four years, except that terms of the ward members appointed to the first Buildings and Grounds Commission shall end on December 31, 2008, for the Ward One member; December 31, 2009, for the Ward Two member; December 31, 2010, for the Ward Three member; and December 31, 2011, for the Ward Four member. The term of the at-large members shall be concurrent with the term of the Mayor. In the event that a vacancy occurs during the term of any member, the successor shall be appointed for the unexpired portion of the term.
