§ 242.03 CITY ENGINEER.
   (a)   Appointment. The Director of Public Service is hereby authorized to appoint a City Engineer who shall be the City Supervisor of Engineering and who shall be in the unclassified service in accordance with R.C. § 124.11(A)(3).
   (b)   Duties. It shall be the duty of the City Engineer to do all of the general engineering work of the city, such as engineering on the construction of all improvements, the surveying and laying out thereof, the preparation of all necessary plans, profiles and estimates, and the inspection of all public work when directed to do so by the Director of Public Service. Further, the City Engineer shall provide professional engineering advice to any city department and/or department supervisor in need of engineering advice and/or counsel; prepare all documentation required for the securing of easements and/or the application for grants; oversee public works projects; and perform any and all other reasonable functions deemed to be necessary for the operation of the city, whether explicitly listed above or prescribed by the Mayor as Director of Public Service.
   (c)   Benefits. The City Engineer, as City Supervisor of Engineering, shall receive all benefits of employment as provided to all other full-time supervisors of departments and/or department heads within the city.
