§ 238.03 ORIGINAL APPOINTMENTS; AGE LIMITATIONS.
   (a)   No person is eligible to receive an original appointment to the Police Department, as a policeman or policewoman, unless he or she has reached the age of 21 years. No person is eligible to receive an original appointment when he or she is 70 years of age or older, and no person can be declared disqualified as over age prior to that time.
   (b)   These provisions shall not be construed to eliminate any other requirements established by law for original appointments.
