719.08 PERMISSIBLE PROOF OF IDENTIFICATION.
   A secondhand or precious metal dealer need not accept the identification offered by any person who offers to transact business with such dealer in the event that the dealer has reason to believe that the seller is not the owner of the merchandise offered to the dealer. In any such case, the dealer may require a sworn and notarized statement from the individual claiming to be the owner of any such item. (Ord. 81-64. Passed 10-13-81.)
