(A) The Town of Shallotte Fire Department shall be governed in its day-to-day operations and activities by the provisions of this chapter and a body of bylaws to be known as “Bylaws of the Town of Shallotte Fire Department,” referred to in this chapter as the “Bylaws of the Department.” The Bylaws shall be enacted from time to time, as necessary, by the Department for its proper government in complying with the spirit, purpose and provisions of this chapter.
(B) The Bylaws of the Department shall be subject to the review by the Board of Aldermen in its discretion, and any bylaw or portion thereof found by the Board to be contrary to the spirit, purpose and provisions of this chapter shall be repealed or amended, as required, in order to comply with this chapter.
(C) The body of bylaws bearing the same date as the date of enactment of this section has been approved by the Board of Aldermen as an initial body of Bylaws for the Department subject to the powers of amendment and enactment of additional bylaws as contained therein and the Board of Aldermen authority of review, as contained in division (B) of this section.
(D) Should any conflict of interpretation or application arise at any time between the bylaws of the Department and the provisions of this chapter, the provisions of this chapter shall control.
