The possession and use of alcohol is prohibited in all park facilities except as provided herein. Alcohol sales may be permitted for specific events in Crossroads Park only by prior approval jointly by the Parks and Recreation Department and the Board of Public Works and Safety. If alcohol sales are permitted, the permittee shall be responsible for complying with all laws concerning the sale and distribution of alcohol and shall provide adequate insurance naming the City of Seymour as an additional insured for any damages or liabilities arising out of the event.

The Superintendent of Parks and Recreation is expressly authorized to issue a permit for any person or persons to specifically use the parks during the periods of time they are not ordinarily open, provided the person or persons applies in writing at least 12 hours in advance of the time the use is requested.

It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to drive or operate any motorized vehicle, within the municipal parks at any time, provided that this prohibition shall not apply to park or other municipal employees while in the performance of their official duties.

The defacement of any property of the parks is specifically prohibited. Failure to abide by the provisions of this section can result in the instituting of criminal charges against the violator.
