(a) The City Engineer is authorized to appoint a CAD (Computer Aided Design) Operator/Technical Assistant to the Division of Engineering. The CAD Operator/Technical Assistant shall be a part-time positions.
(b) The qualification for the part-time CAD (Computer Aided Design) Operator/Technical Assistant shall be as follows:
(1) Certificate in Computer Aided Design (CAD) or equivalent.
(2) A working knowledge and proficient in AutoCAD.
(3) Be able to use MS Word or a Word Perfect software and spreadsheet program such as MS Excel or Lotus 123.
(4) A working knowledge and an understanding of engineering department procedures including but not limited to filing of plans and documents.
(5) Knowledge of Civil Engineering standards including the design of roads, sewers, water mains, etc.
(6) Two years working in a municipal or similar type of Engineering Department.
(c) The duties of the part-time CAD Operator/Technical Assistant shall include but not be limited to the following:
(1) Prepare CAD drawings for road work, storm and sanitary sewer projects.
(2) Update the City wide maps.
(3) Perform other functions as directed by the City Engineer.
(d) The CAD Operator/Technical Assistant shall receive as and for salary and compensation for his part-time duties in accordance with the following pay range at the discretion of the City Engineer:
Annual Salary from January 1, 2005 and thereafter $12.00 - $15.00 per hour |
Such annual compensation shall be paid directly to the CAD Operator/Technical Assistant in twenty-six substantially equal amounts, together with any other benefits as provided in Chapter 151.
