972.10 SIGNS.
   In Office Districts one permanent business sign not extending above the coping or cornice, whichever is higher, and limited to the display of either the name of the occupant or the name of the building is permitted only along the building face next parallel to the street line. The area of the permanent business sign on the premises shall not exceed one square foot for each lineal foot of building face measured next parallel to the street line, or 100 square feet, whichever is less. Neither the business sign, nor the lettering or other symbols thereon, shall exceed two feet in height. On a corner lot, either frontage may be used, but the frontage so selected shall be the front wall of the building for the purposes of this section.
   No illumination shall be used on any such sign other than floodlighting installed at grade which shall be designed, arranged and used to illuminate only the building face and shaded to prevent the emission of light into the street or into residential areas. No business sign visible from any public street shall display or reflect any light of a color authorized by law to be used in traffic control signals, or so near to any such color as to tend to confuse operators of motor vehicles on any public street.
   No advertising sign shall be erected, maintained or installed on the premises.
