The width of any new streets in proposed subdivisions shall be not less than sixty feet, the actual width to be determined by the type of road construction proposed to be used, and to be approved by the Engineer.
No plat for an allotment or subdivision shall be accepted showing any single lots having a frontage width of less than eighty feet, or showing a proposed street with lots abutting on only one side thereof. However, where there are practical difficulties or unnecessary hardships in carrying out the strict letter of this provision, Council shall have the power in a specific case to vary the application of such provision in harmony with the general purpose and intent of this title so that the public health, safety, morals and general welfare may be secured.
